one Noel grew up in Tiffany, Colorado, with her mom and dad and little brother Nathan, nicknamed Nate. She really liked it there, and for some reason, her parents decided to pack up and leave when she was 16 to go to the far, distant land of New Jersey. While Noel didn't particularly care either way where she lived, it was just sort of a pain to have to move all the way to this stupid place. She was almost finished with high school, after all, and she didn't want to have to start all over again at a new one. two However, Colorado wasn't her favorite place in the world. Noel found a few things to do there, such as a ballet class that she enjoyed, until the teachers started to become very strict and kept the girls slender and flexible as possible. Because of the pressure to stay thin, Noel started throwing up everything she ate. And soon enough, she just stopped eating. three Her parents caught it before it was too late, though, and they moved Noel to New Jersey, hoping she would make new friends and try new things. four It was then that Noel decided to become a history teacher. She kept up with her ballet all the same, and her parents stopped worrying so much about Noel and started to hassle Nate about his horrendous grades. Noel was left by herself a lot to do her own thing. She was growing up, after all, and her parents were bound to spend more time on Nate because he was having so much trouble in school. five Even though Nate wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, Noel was insanely smart. She would lock herself in her room, doing calculus problems until one in the morning for fun. Her parents encouraged her fervent studying, knowing that she would get into college without a problem. six And she did. Noel decided to go to the College of New Jersey. The bad part was, she totally could have gone anywhere she wanted -- Noel secretly applied to Harvard University and got in. However, she didn't want to be TOO far away from home, and she knew that she could get away with being mediocre. Not that that was what she wanted, but she was always so insecure about all of her work and didn't want to get too far behind if something went wrong. seven When Noel started at the College of New Jersey, she wasn't the most popular student ever. However, she met some rowdy boys in her English class that she ended up editing their papers for, and from then on, she became a little part of their group. Ever since then, she has been best friends with a very select few. The rest of the group, she's very friendly with, but Noel rarely voices any of her problems. She likes to keep things bottled up and helps other people if they're having trouble with things like classes instead. eight Though it might not seem like her, Noel does enjoy a bit of pot every now and then. The boys got her into it, and she'll blame them forever for it. In fact, if the boys do something particularly ridiculous, Noel will probably yell at them. And in return, the boys will probably tease her, "Oh, you SO do it too!" And she has nothing she can say after that because that is very true. Sometimes, Noel can be just as bad as them, even if she is considered the "Brains of the Organization." Some of the boys call her Brain just to seal that title, and Noel just rolls her eyes and goes along with it. nine Though Noel seems like the type that wouldn't approve of these ridiculous shenanigans, she is fiercely loyal to her group of friends. She may have a few trust issues and won't tell them her secrets, but she is always there for them to tell her anything and everything. Even if it's just to give them a little bit of tutoring now and then to catch up on classes when they've been particularly busy pranking the rest of the school. ten Noel is your typical nerd. She wears sweaters and reading glasses and enjoys a nice cup of tea every so often. Nevertheless, even if she is the dork in the group, sometimes, she comes up with the best schemes for disaster unexpectedly.
shhhhhhh. Yeah, remember that part about her parents catching her not eating before it was too late? Total shit. They thought she had started eating again, but Noel made it look like she was eating, moving her food around on her plate with her fork to become messy on the plate, making it look like she ate something. Noel has become the master of this, even in college. No one notices that she doesn't eat, and so far, no one has commented on her becoming skinnier and skinnier. Noel would rather like to keep it that way, actually.
RP SAMPLE
Noel sighed to herself, staring at the history book in front of her in the library. It wasn't that she didn't like history; she just really didn't want to study right now. Especially when she noticed that a particular boy -- Boy Five -- was standing just at the other end of the aisle, looking through books. Why was he here, anyway? Shouldn't he be off playing football or beating off or something? She kept rolling her eyes every time he would act the slightest bit clumsy, bothered by him already. She wasn't particularly fond of Boy Five. He was jocky and egotistical, but she had to be somewhat nice to him because he was in their group of friends.
It wasn't as if Boy Five particularly liked her either, though, and it wasn't as if he had shown any improvement within the last year they'd been here. In fact, Noel tended to stay away from him whenever she could because she didn't particularly want to talk to this boy if she didn't have to. She knew she was supposed to be nice, since his home life wasn't always the most secure, with his mother having been dead for some time now, but Noel couldn't help it. She simply didn't like him. She didn't even know why he was here, in the library.
She cringed to herself as she saw him out of the corner of her eye, recognizing that she was there and walking towards her table. "Hey, Sticks, baby, tutor me in history, will you? I'm awful at this French Revolution thing." There was a slight flicker in Noel's eye as she held herself back from punching him in the jeans because of his stupid question. French Revolution THING. HOW COULD HE EVEN-- UGH.
Noel could tell -- this was going to be a bad day.
